a phospholipid that lacks one of its fatty acyl chains; an intermediate formed during digestion of dietary and biliary phospholipids. The terms lysophospholipid and lysophosphatidate are sometimes used synonymously to denote the monoacyl derivatives of phosphatidic acidcontaining compounds.
