| kynureninase |
[EC 3.7.1.3] an enzyme of the hydrolase class that catalyzes the cleavage of hydroxykynurenine to hydroxyanthranilic acid and alanine as a step in the metabolism of tryptophan; kynurenine is also a substrate. The enzyme is a pyridoxal phosphate protein, so enzyme activity is reduced in vitamin B6 deficiency.

| kynurenine 3-monooxygenase |
[EC 1.14.13.9] an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the hydroxylation of kynurenine as a step in the metabolism of tryptophan. The enzyme is a flavoprotein, containing FAD, and the reaction requires NADPH.
