Isolecithal (Greek iso = equal, lekithos = yolk) is the even distribution of yolk in the cytoplasm of ovums of mammals and other invertebrates notably Petromyzontidae, Acipenseridae, Amiidae, and Lepisosteidae. Isoleithal cells have two equal hemispheres of yolk.
