indurated c. a hard, brawny induration of the skin of the lower leg, sometimes painful and disabling, caused by a low-grade inflammation in association with chronic venous insufficiency (see postphlebitic syndrome, under syndrome); it is seen most often proximal to the internal malleolus but can affect other areas and even the entire circumference of the leg. Called also phlebitic induration.
