Noun. (Latin, hamulus = little hook. Pl., hamuli). 1. Any small hook or hook-like process. 2. Orthoptera (tree-crickets): hook-like processes of the genitalia. 3. Siphonaptera: moveable sclerites from the lateral walls of the aedeagal palliolum. 4. Hymenoptera: a. the small hook-like structures along the anterior margin of the hindwing which links with the posterior margin of the forewing during flight. b. Penis valves (gonocoxites + gonostyli + volsellae).
