| 설명 | 신경에서 느껴지는 통증. 통증에는 말초신경통(peripheral neuralgia)과 중추신경통(central neuralgia)이 있다. 말초신경통은 다시 체성 신경통(somatic pain)과 내장성 신경통(visceral pain)으로 나뉘어진다. 체성 신경통(somatic pain)은 아픈 위치가 명확하고 흔히 외상 등으로 느끼는 경우가 많다. 이에 비해 내장성 신경통(visceral pain)은 아픈 위치가 명확하지 않고 주위전체가 아픈 것처럼 느껴져 대개 “쓰리다”, “속이 불편하다”등의 모호한 통증을 호소하는 경우가 많다. 중추신경통은 예전에 느껴보지 못한 통증으로 위치와 증상이 모호하지만, 심한 통증을 호소하며, 흔한 진통제로는 잘 듣지 않아 마약류의 진통제를 써야 한다. |

| geniculate neuralgia |
Severe deep ear pain. The pain is usually sharp and described as an "ice pick in the ear". However, it can be also described as a duller burning pain and can be accompanied by facial pain.
