  • Form Perception - »õâ The sensory discrimination of a pattern shape or outline.
Synonyms : Contour Perceptions, Form Perceptions, Perception, Contour, Perception, Form, Perceptions, Contour, Perceptions, Form
  • Formaldehyde - »õâ A highly reactive aldehyde gas formed by oxidation or incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons. In solution, it has a wide range of uses: in the manufacture of resins and textiles, as a disinfectant, and as a laboratory fixative or preservative. Formaldehyde solution (formalin) is considered a hazardous compound, and its vapor toxic. (From Reynolds, Martindale The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p717)
Synonyms : Formalin, Formol, Methanal, Oxomethane
  • Formamides - »õâ A group of amides with the general formula of R-CONH2.
    Synonyms :
  • Formate Dehydrogenases - »õâ Flavoproteins that catalyze reversibly the reduction of carbon dioxide to formate. Many compounds can act as acceptors, but the only physiologically active acceptor is NAD. The enzymes are active in the fermentation of sugars and other compounds to carbon dioxide and are the key enzymes in obtaining energy when bacteria are grown on formate as the main carbon source. They have been purified from bovine blood. EC 1.2.1.2.
Synonyms : NAD-Formate Dehydrogenase, Dehydrogenase, NAD-Formate, Dehydrogenases, Formate, Hydrogenlyases, Formate, NAD Formate Dehydrogenase
  • Formate-Tetrahydrofolate Ligase - »õâ A carbon-nitrogen ligase that catalyzes the formation of 10-formyltetrahydrofolate from formate and TETRAHYDROFOLATE in the presence of ATP. In higher eukaryotes the enzyme also contains METHYLENETETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE (NADP+) and METHENYLTETRAHYDROFOLATE CYCLOHYDROLASE activity.
Synonyms : Formyltetrahydrofolate Synthetase, Formate Tetrahydrofolate Ligase, Formylase, Tetrahydrofolate, Ligase, Formate-Tetrahydrofolate, Synthetase, Formyltetrahydrofolate
