Fluorescence immunoassays (FIA) are competitive binding immunoassays in which the analyte content of the sample is measured by the amount of fluorescence from bound labeled ligand. FIA's can also use a fluorogenic enzyme to tag the tracer and measure the formation of a fluorescent product.
