| 설명 | 국소 발육장애로 뼈의 모든 성분이 나타나나 성숙한 구조로 분화하지는 못하는 병이다. 임상으로 하나의 뼈 혹은 여러개의 뼈를 동시에 침범할 수 있다. 여러뼈 유형은 갈색색소 침착과 내분비 장애를 동반하며 조숙한 성적 발육을 동반한다. 육안소견으로 경계가 뚜렷한 병터로 조직소견으로는 섬유모세포의 증식과 곡선상의 뼈잔기둥으로 구성되어 있는데 뼈잔기둥은 뼈모세포로 덮여있지 않은 무층뼈(woven bone)이다. |

| 설명 | 콩팥은 혈액속에 불순물을 제거하는 역할을 하는 부분이다. 콩팥의 역할은 콩팥단위(nephron)라는 것에 의해서 이루어진다. 이것은 콩팥기능의 단위로 콩팥에는 수많은 네프론이 존재한다. 네프론은 다음과 같은 구조로 이루어져 있다. 토리(glomerulus): 콩팥의 모세혈관의 실타래모양을 이루며 모여 있는 것을 말한다. 콩팥으로 들어온 혈액은 모세혈관을 통해서 사구체를 지나간다.  |

| 설명 | 가슴의 앞 위쪽에 위치한 림프성 장기로서, 사춘기에 최고의 무게에 달했다가 이후에 퇴축한다. 이것은 세포매개 면역(cell-mediated immunity: 주로 T-림프구에 의해 일어나며, 자기와 다른 세포에 대한 인식과 이식거부반응에 관여함)기능의 발달과 성숙에 필요한 장기이며, 회백적색으로 보통 정중면에서 결합조직에 의해 결합된 두 개의 엽으로 되어 있다. 가슴샘은 상피세포, 림프구, 가슴샘세포로 구성되어 있으며 전구세포가 가슴샘에 이행하여 림프구로 분화되고, 그 대부분은 파괴되나 나머지는 T림프구를 형성한다. 가슴샘은 또한 호르몬 유사물질인 thymine, thymopoietin, thymosin 등을 분비한다. |
