| 설명 | 전자총에서 나오는 속도가 거의 균일한 전자의 연속적 흐름. X선과 마찬가지로 분자나 결정격자에 의해 전자빔의 간섭, 회절 효과를 관측할 수 있어서 분자의 구조를 알아내는 데 사용을 할 수가 있다. 그리고 물체에의 전자의 조사에 이용되기도 하는데, 악성종양에 대한 전자선 요법으로서는 라듐 B 또는 메소토륨같은 방사성 물질을 환부 가까이 위치시켜서 직접 전자선을 투여하여 악성 종양을 치료하는 방법이 있다. |

| hemibody irradiation | Irradiation of one half or both halves of the body in the treatment of disseminated cancer or widespread metastases. The more frequent treatment modalities are upper hemibody irradiation (uhbi) or lower hemibody irradiation (lhbi). Less common is mid-body irradiation (mbi). In the treatment of both halves of the body sequentially, hemibody irradiation permits radiotherapy of the whole body with larger doses of radiation than could be accomplished with whole-body irradiation.
