| 설명 | 정상 사람의 조직은 체표면을 덮는 역할을 하는 조직과, 주로 발생기의 중배엽에서 분화한 간엽조직에서 유래하는 결합조직, 뼈, 연골, 지방, 근육, 혈관 등의 조직의 두 계통으로 나눌 수 있다. 전자를 상피성 조직, 후자를 비상피성 조직이라 하며 그 각각을 구성하는 세포를 상피성 세포, 비상피세포라 총칭한다. 상피성 세포에서 기원하는 종양이 상피성 종양이며, 근처의 조직으로 침투나 혈류, 림프의 조직을 타고 원거리의 장기로 이동하지 않는 양성종양에는 선종, 유두종 등이 있고 양성과 반대로 근처의 조직으로 침투, 원격장기로 전이하는 악성종양을 모두 통칭하여 암종(carcinoma)이라고 한다. |

| 설명 | 상피는 한 층 또는 여러 층의 세포로 이루어진 판 모양의 구조로 신체의 표면과 관상구조의 내강을 둘러싸고 있다. 상피세포와 상피세포사이의 적은 양으로 존재하여 상피사이의 공간을 채우고 있는 세포간질을 합쳐 상피조직이라 한다. 상피조직에는 원칙적으로 혈관이 분포되어 있지 않다. |

| rotator cuff | <anatomy> The rotator cuff is a tendon formed by three distinct muscles: teres minor, supraspinatus and infraspinatus, which stabilise the head of the humerus within the shoulder joint. Tendinitis or injury to the rotator cuff muscle can make shoulder abduction (lifting the arm out to the side) and external rotation painful. | cochlear implant | An electronic device implanted under the skin with electrodes in the middle ear on the promontory or cochlear window or in the inner ear in the cochlea to create sound sensation in total sensory deafness. A microphone behind the ear feeds sound waves into a microprocessor carried on the body, which analyzes the data and sends information back to a radio transmitter that triggers the electrodes in the middle or inner ear to produce the appropriate electrical pulses. This does not enable the patient actually to hear, but rather to distinguish different sounds according to the neural sensation they produce. The first successful cochlear implant was performed in 1978 in Melbourne, Australia. Such devices are among many implanted aids which have been made possible by the advent of microchip technology.
