electro-oculogram This is a method of measuring eye activity can by placing electrodes on the face or temples near the eye and recording the electrical signals that are produced by the rotation of the eyeball. The eye itself has an electrical field around it, due to the intense metabolic activity in the retina. This field moves with the eye, and may be measured in terms of a voltage reading, which is proportional to eye movement when electrodes are placed on the skin around the eye.
