Organisms which have only two primary germ layers (ectoderm and endoderm). Their bodies develop to have only two tissue layers ?gastroderm (inside) and ectoderm (outside). This types of development is apparent in cnidarians.

having a body made of two cellular layers only (as opposed to the majority of animals which are triploblastic), the exterior ectoderm and the interior endoderm.
