siblings develop each within their own chorion "shell". Of dichorionic twin pregnancies, 80% are fraternal twins, and 20% are identical twins. Identical twins can be dichorionic if splitting of the conceptus occurs prior to the formation of the chorion (most commonly pre-implantation).
