deoxyuridine <chemical> 2'-deoxyuridine. An antimetabolite that is converted to deoxyuridine triphosphate during DNA synthesis. Laboratory suppression of deoxyuridine is used to diagnose megaloblastic anaemias due to vitamin b12 and folate deficiencies.
