| 설명 | 노화에 따른 뇌의 퇴행성 변화의 결과 나타나는 노인성 정신장애. 주로 지능의 기능저하로 일어나는데, 65세 전후부터 70세의 노년기에 일어나는 경우를 말한다. 생리적인 노인치매의 이행에 대해서는 현상적으로 명확한 구별을 할 수 없다. 노인성 변화로는 육안으로는 특히 이마엽에서 현저한 뇌의 위축을 볼 수 있으며, 조직학적으로는 신경세포의 감소, 신경세포 내의 리포프스친 증가, 노인반의 출현, 신경원섬유의 비후 등을 들 수 있다. 증세로는 심한 건망증과 기억장애로 시작하여 그런 장애를 얼버무리기 위한 말만들기 또는 지각저하가 생기고, 사고면에서는 군소리를 늘어놓거나 의욕만 앞서면, 판단력이나 추리력이 저하되고, 생산적 사고가 소실되며, 계산력이 쇠퇴하고, 사태에 대한 판단이 불가능해지는 등의 증세가 나타난다. |

| 설명 | 뇌의 기질적 장애에 의하여 후천적으로 일어나는 회복불능의 지능장애로서, 의식장애에 의한 것이 아닌 것을 말한다. 지능, 의지, 기억 등 정신적인 능력이 두드러지게 감퇴한 상태로서 정신박약과 같은 지능 장애인데, 정신박약이 주로 지능발육이 지체되거나 정지된 것인 데 비하여 치매는 일단 발달된 지능이 대뇌의 질환으로 인해 지속적으로 저하된 상태라는 점에서 구별된다. 과거의 체험에 의한 기억이나 지식이 단편적으로 남아 있고, 전체적으로 일정하지 않은 지능장애가 나타난다. |

Prevention includes the use of sun screen agents and the avoidance of drugs (for example tetracyclines) known to cause photosensitivity reactions. Usually a discreet slightly raised, red or pink lesion located on a sun exposed surface. Texture may appear as rough, gritty or scaly.
