| 설명 | 청신경(제8뇌신경)의 신경겉을 싸고 있는 집(sheath)의 슈반세포(Schwann cell)에서 기원하는 종양-뇌종양 중 비교적 흔하며 대개 40~50대에 호발한다. 증상으로는 귀울림, 난청, 소뇌기능장애 등이 있으며, 이중 귀울림이 가장 초기의 증상이다. |

| acoustic neuroma | <oncology, tumour> This is a benign tumour of the 8th cranial nerve. This tumour arises from the myelin forming Schwann cells that coat the 8th cranial nerve (acoustic nerve). Clinical presentation usually includes hearing deficit. Diagnosis can be made with auditory evoked potentials and/or MRI scanning of the brain. Vertigo and tinnitus may be associated symptoms. | acute cutaneous leishmaniasis | A form of cutaneous leishmaniasis characterised by rural distribution of human cases near infected rodents, particularly communal ground squirrels; characterised by acute rapidly developing dermal lesions that become severely inflamed, with moist necrotizing sores or ulcers that heal in two to eight months after a two to four month incubation period; among nonimmune immigrants, multiple lesions may develop, which heal more slowly and leave disabling or disfiguring scars. A strong delayed hypersensitivity and involvement of immune complexes play a role in necrosis, which is part of the healing process and of the strong specific immunity that follows.
