conidiogenous cell A cell that gives rise to a conidium.

conidiogenous blown out, with enlargement of the conidial initial before delimitation by a septum. The conidiogenous cells (CC) can produce conidia at varous ways: denticulate (CC bear denticles), cicatrized (CC have flat or protuberant scars, often with a minute pore in the centre).
