| partial heart block | Impulses penetrate the atrioventricular junction in some relation to the ventricular rate. Synonym: incomplete atrioventricular block. (05 Mar 2000) |
| congenital heart block | Atrioventricular block present in utero or at birth and usually of advanced or complete degree. (05 Mar 2000) |
| heart block | <cardiology, physiology> A conduction disturbance that results in the inappropriate delay (or complete inability) of a electrical impulse, generated in the atria, to reach the ventricles (via the atrioventricular node). Clinical types are divided into first (nonserious), second and third degree (most serious) AV blocks. Some drugs may precipitate an AV block (for example clonidine, methyldopa, verapamil). A permanent pacemaker may be required for a third degree (complete) heart block. (07 Apr 1998) |

| complete antigen | Any antigen capable of stimulating the formation of antibody with which it reacts in vivo or in vitro, as distinguished from incomplete antigen (hapten). (05 Mar 2000) |
| complete ascertainment | Method by which all families with at least one affected individual in a population are certain or have an equal chance of being identified by survey or an appropriate random sampling technique. (05 Mar 2000) |

| complete blood count | <haematology, investigation> The number of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets are present in the patients sample of blood is determined. most common test done on the blood. Acronym: CBC Synonym: full blood count. (16 Mar 1998) |

| complete cleavage | Cleavage in which the blastomeres are completely separated; the entire egg participates in cell division. Synonym: complete cleavage, total cleavage. (05 Mar 2000) |
| complete denture | A dental prosthesis which is a substitute for the lost natural dentition and associated structures of the maxillae or mandible. Synonym: full denture. (05 Mar 2000) |
| complete denture impression | An impression of an edentulous arch made for the purpose of constructing a complete denture, a negative registration of the entire denture-bearing, stabilizing area of either the maxillae or mandible, a negative registration of the entire denture foundation and border seal areas present in the edentulous mouth. (05 Mar 2000) |
| complete heart block |
An arrhythmia. The electrical current is slowed between the atria and ventricles. In more severe cases, conduction is blocked completely and the atria and ventricles beat independently.

| complete heart block |
A condition in which there is a complete dissociation between atrial and ventricular systoles. Ventricles may beat from their own pacemakers at a rate of 30 to 40 beats per minute while atria beat independently. SEE:
