a rare type of hepatocellular carcinoma arising from the cholangioles, composed of tumor cells resembling the epithelial cells of the cholangioles arranged in cords consisting of two layers of cells surrounding a minute lumen. Called also bile duct c., extrahepatic bile duct c., and cholangiocarcinoma.
