| 설명 | 뼈의 무기질은 칼슘과 인산염으로 이루어져 있다. 그래서 뼈에 병터가 있는 경우에는 뼈의 인산염분포나 양이 변화하게 된다. 이것을 이용하여 인산염에다가 방사선을 내보내는 물질을 붙여 환자에게 투여하고 그 물질이 내보내는 방사선을 이용하여 영상을 만들어서 뼈의 전반적인 상태나 병터의 발견에 이용하는 방법을 뼈스캔(bone scan)이라고 한다. |

| 설명 | 콩팥실질의 병변으로 인해 야기된 고혈압. 콩팥의 대표적 기능은 노폐물 및 수분의 배설이다. 그런데 이러한 콩팥기능에 이상이 생겼을 경우 체내에 과잉수분의 축적이 발생하게 된다. 이와같은 과잉수분의 축적은 혈관내 정수압을 상승시켜 고혈압을 유발하게 된다. 치료는 원인 콩팥병의 교정이며 이유를 모르는 원발고혈압과 달리 콩팥성고혈압의 경우에는 원인 콩팥병이 교정되면 고혈압도 사라지게 된다. |

| captopril renal scan | <radiology> In a kidney with a lesion in the afferent arteriole (e.g. Atherosclerotic plaque), reflex constriction of the efferent arteriole occurs through angiotensin system thus maintaining renal perfusion. ACE inhibition prevents constriction of efferent arteriole. Therefore, perfusion is decreased to a kidney with afferent lesions and the renal scan to looks WORSE. | abscess scan | <investigation> This is a nuclear scan that utilises radioactively tagged white blood cells. The patients white blood cells (taken from a small tube of blood) are tagged with radioactive indium. Later, the cells are then reinjected into the bloodstream. The coarse of the white blood cells can then be mapped using a gamma camera (radiation detecting device). The net result is a picture that shows the location of the radioactive white blood cells. | MRI scan | A special imaging technique used to image internal stuctures of the body, particularly the soft tissues. An MRI image is often superior to a normal X-ray image. It uses the influence of a large magnet to polarize hydrogen atoms in the tissues and then monitors the summation of the spinning energies within living cells. Images are very clear and are particularly good for soft tissue, brain and spinal cord, joints and abdomen. These scans may be used for detecting some cancers or for following their progress. | MUGA scan | This noninvasive test uses radioactive tracers to delineate the hearts chambers and major vessels. It may be used to detect a heart attack, heart muscle function and coronary artery disease. The patient receives a radioactive tracer by injection (into a vein) and then the heart is imaged using a gamma camera. The heart is imaged before and after exercise. This test may be used to detect and evaluate atrial septal defect, dilated cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, Lyme disease (secondary), mitral stenosis and superior vena cava syndrome.
