bronchovesicular breath s.’s breath sounds intermediate between bronchial and vesicular, with inhalation and exhalation being of similar duration and quality. They are heard normally near the anterior part of the first two intercostal spaces and on the back between the scapulae. When heard over the lung they usually indicate an area of partial consolidation. Called also bronchovesicular respiration.
