phytophotodermatitis due to sequential exposure to cologne, perfume, or other toilet articles containing bergamot oil and then to sunlight. In women, the lesions usually present as brown pigmented patches on the sides of the neck, behind the ears, and sometimes on the face, breasts, shoulders, or elsewhere. Aftershave lotion containing bergamot oil or a related substance may cause a similar reaction in men. Called also perfume d.
