amodiaquine <chemical> A 4-aminoquinoquinoline compound with anti-inflammatory properties, used for the suppressiom and treatment of malaria, for the treatment of giardiasis and extraintestinal amebiasis, for the suppression of lupus erythematosus, and as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is administered orally.
Pharmacological action: amebicides, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, antimalarials.

amodiaquine hydrochloride 4-(7-Chloro-4-quinolylamino)-alpha-diethylamino-o-cresol dihydrochloride dihydrate;an antimalarial drug, also used in the treatment of amoebic hepatitis; large doses may result in sialorrhoea, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, insomnia, palpitations, spasticity, and possibly convulsions.
