(for pregnancy): a female African clawed toad (Xenopus laevis) is injected in the dorsal lymph sac with 2 mL of urine from a woman suspected of being pregnant, or 1 mL of an extract; a deposit of five, six, or more eggs within four to twelve hours indicates pregnancy.
