a genus of gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae, isolated from human clinical specimens, primarily from the respiratory tract. It is probably an infrequent opportunistic pathogen. The type species is T. pty´seos.
