| 설명 | 림프계세포(림프구)는 크게 2가지로 대분된다. 이른바 T림프세포(T-cell), B림프세포(B-cell)로 나뉘어진다. T림프세포는 세포성 면역에 관여하며, 주로 바이러스병에 대한 면역기능이나, 알레르기 등에 관여한다. 이에 비해 B림프세포는 체액성 면역에 관여하여, 항원 항체 반응을 일으키는 항체를 생산하고 주로 세균성 질환에 대한 면역 기능을 담당한다. T-림프구는 면역기능에 가장 중요한 역할을 하는 세포로서 세포면역을 담당하며 B-cell의 작용을 조절하는 기능도 있다. 골수에서 생성되어 가슴샘에서 성숙된다. 크게 보조T세포(helper T-cell: 면역작용의 발생을 보조한다)와 T세포(suppressor T-cell: 면역작용의 발생을 억제한다)로 구분되며 이들은 세포 표면에 분포하는 항원에 의해서 식별될 수 있다. |

| T-lymphocytes, cytotoxic | Immunised T-lymphocytes which can directly destroy appropriate target cells. These cytotoxic lymphocytes may be generated in vitro in mixed lymphocyte cultures (mlc), in vivo during a graft-versus-host (gvh) reaction, or after immunization with an allograft, tumour cell or virally transformed or chemically modified target cell. The lytic phenomenon is sometimes referred to as cell-mediated lympholysis (cml). For example, helper-inducer T-cells cooperate with B-cells to produce antibodies to thymus-dependent antigens and with other subpopulations of T-cells to initiate a variety of cell-mediated immune functions.
