a heterogenous group of lymphoid tumors representing malignant transformation of the T lymphocytes. The category includes convoluted T-cell lymphoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, adult T-cell leukemia, and certain other conditions. Some types of tumors formerly included in this group have been found to be mixtures of T cells and B cell precursors.
