| 설명 | 쥐목 고슴도치과에 속하는 작은 설치류 동물. 학명은 Cavia cobaya로서 모르모트라고도 한다. 몸길이 약 25cm, 몸무게 약 450g이다. 몸은 통통한 편이며 다리가 짧다. 앞발은 발가락이 네 개, 뒷발은 세 개이며, 발톱은 너비가 넓다 주둥이에 털이 있고, 귀는 작고 둥글며 밖으로 튀어나와 있다. 꼬리는 없다. 몸빛깔은 검은색, 흰색, 노란빛을 띤 갈색, 붉은 빛을 띤 갈색 등 변이가 많다. 남아메리카의 페루 원산으로 의학-생물학의 실험동물로 많이 쓰이는데, 원주민이 고기를 식용하기 위해 옛날부터 많이 사육하였다. |

| papua new guinea | A country consisting of the eastern half of the island of new guinea and adjacent islands, including new britain, new ireland, the admiralty islands, and new hanover in the bismarck archipelago; bougainville and buka in the northern solomon islands; the d'entrecasteaux and trobriand islands; woodlark (murua) island; and the louisiade archipelago. It became independent on september 16, 1975. Formerly, the southern part was the Australian territory of papua, and the northern part was the un trust territory of new guinea, administered by Australia.
