Andrew Victor, born 1926. Lithuanian-born American biochemist; co-winner, with Roger C.L. Guillemin and Rosalyn S. Yalow, of the Nobel prize for medicine or physiology in 1977 for the discovery of releasing factors, low-molecular-weight polypeptides secreted by the hypothalamus that regulate the release of hormones by the pituitary gland.
