phenoxybenzamine <chemical> N-(2-chloroethyl)-n-(1-methyl-2-phenoxyethyl) benzenemethanamine. An alpha-adrenergic anatagonist with long duration of action. It has been used to treat hypertension and as a peripheral vasodilator.
Pharmacological action: adrenergic alpha-antagonists, antihypertensive agents, sympatholytics, vasodilator agents.

phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride (2-Chloroethyl)-N-(1-methyl-2-phenoxyethyl benzylamine hydrochloride;a potent adrenergic (alpha-receptor) blocking agent of the beta-haloalkylamines; selectively blocks the excitatory response of smooth muscle and exocrine glands to epinephrine; used in the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases and in pheochromocytoma.
