Paramyxoviridae <virology> Class V viruses of vertebrates. The genome consists of a single negative strand of RNA as one piece.
The helical nucleocapsid has a virus specific RNA polymerase (transcriptase) associated with it. They are enveloped viruses: main members are Newcastle disease virus, measles virus and the parainfluenza viruses.
