Per-Hop-Behavior is a way of describing the forwarding treatment experienced by a packet at each network node in a DiffServ domain. A bit pattern in each IP packet header, in the IPv4 TOS octet or the IPv6 Traffic Class octet, is used to mark a packet to receive a particular forwarding treatment, or per-hop behavior.
