  • Nephelometry and Turbidimetry - »õâ Chemical analysis based on the phenomenon whereby light, passing through a medium with dispersed particles of a different refractive index from that of the medium, is attenuated in intensity by scattering. In turbidimetry, the intensity of light transmitted through the medium, the unscattered light, is measured. In nephelometry, the intensity of the scattered light is measured, usually, but not necessarily, at right angles to the incident light beam.
Synonyms : Nephelometry, Turbidimetry and Nephelometry
  • Nephrectomy - »õâ Excision of a kidney. (Dorland, 28th ed)
    Synonyms : Nephrectomies
  • Nephritis - »õâ Inflammation of any part of the KIDNEY.
    Synonyms : Nephritides
  • Nephritis, Hereditary - »õâ A group of inherited conditions characterized initially by HEMATURIA and slowly progressing to RENAL INSUFFICIENCY. The most common form is the Alport syndrome (hereditary nephritis with HEARING LOSS) which is caused by mutations in genes for TYPE IV COLLAGEN and defective GLOMERULAR BASEMENT MEMBRANE.
Synonyms : Alport Syndrome, Alport Syndrome, Autosomal Dominant, Alport Syndrome, Autosomal Recessive, Alport Syndrome, X-Linked, Alport Syndrome, X Linked, Alport Syndromes, Alports Syndrome, Familial Nephritides, Familial Nephritis, Hereditary Nephritides
  • Nephritis, Interstitial - »õâ Inflammation of the interstitial tissue of the kidney. This term is generally used for primary inflammation of KIDNEY TUBULES and/or surrounding interstitium. For primary inflammation of glomerular interstitium, see GLOMERULONEPHRITIS. Infiltration of the inflammatory cells into the interstitial compartment results in EDEMA, increased spaces between the tubules, and tubular renal dysfunction.
Synonyms : Interstitial Nephritides, Nephritides, Interstitial, Nephritides, Tubulointerstitial, Tubulointerstitial Nephritides
