NADH dehydrogenase The NADH dehydrogenase (EC 1.6.5.3)) complex, also called complex I, or NADH coenzyme Q oxidoreductase, is the first complex in the electron transfer chain of mitochondria and catalyzes the transfer of electrons from NADH to coenzyme Q (CoQ): In the process of reducing coenzyme Q, this complex also translocates protons, helping to provide the electrochemical potential used to produce ATP. ...

NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) [EC 1.6.5.3] an enzyme complex of the inner mitochondrial membrane that catalyzes the transfer of electrons from NADH to ubiquinone, oxidizing the former and reducing the latter in a reaction of the electron transport chain (q.v.). The enzyme complex contains flavoprotein (FMN) and iron-sulfur prosthetic groups and is associated with proton translocation and the resultant synthesis of ATP.
