an autosomal dominant condition usually beginning in childhood or adolescence, characterized chiefly by chronic noninflammatory facial swelling, usually confined to the lips in the form of granulomatous cheilitis, with recurrent facial palsy and sometimes fissured tongue. Associated ophthalmic symptoms may include lagophthalmos, blepharochalasis, swollen eyelids, burning sensation of the eyes, corneal opacities, retrobulbar neuritis, and exophthalmos.
