an animal model of antibody-mediated glomerulonephritis produced by injection of heterologous antibody against renal antigens. It occurs in two phases. The heterologous phase, occurring within a few hours, consists of the inflammatory response triggered by the nephrotoxic antibody binding to antigens in the glomerular basement membrane (GBM) and resembles anti-GBM antibody disease. The autologous phase, occurring 4–6 days later, consists of the host response to the foreign antibody and does not correspond to a human disease.
