lamivudine <chemical> A reverse transcriptase inhibitor and zalcitabine analog in which a sulfur atom replaces the 3' carbon of the pentose ring. It is used to treat HIV disease.
Pharmacological action: anti-HIV agents, reverse transcriptase inhibitors.
