Lachman test With the knee flexed approximately 20 degrees, the proximal tibia is pulled forward. Excessive motion of the tibia anteriorly is indicative of a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. This is found to be the most accurate clinical test for tear of the anterior cruciate ligament.
