  • Levallorphan - »õâ An opioid antagonist with properties similar to those of NALOXONE; in addition it also possesses some agonist properties. It should be used cautiously; levallorphan reverses severe opioid-induced respiratory depression but may exacerbate respiratory depression such as that induced by alcohol or other non-opioid central depressants. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p683)
    Synonyms : Lorfan
  • Levamisole - »õâ An antihelminthic drug that has been tried experimentally in rheumatic disorders where it apparently restores the immune response by increasing macrophage chemotaxis and T-lymphocyte function. Paradoxically, this immune enhancement appears to be beneficial in rheumatoid arthritis where dermatitis, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia, and nausea and vomiting have been reported as side effects. (From Smith and Reynard, Textbook of Pharmacology, 1991, p435-6)
Synonyms : Decaris, Dekaris, Levamisole Hydrochloride, Solaskil, Hydrochloride, Levamisole
  • Levisticum - »õâ A plant genus of the family APIACEAE.
    Synonyms : Levisticum officinale
  • Leviviridae - »õâ A family of bacteriophages that infects enterobacteria, CAULOBACTER, and PSEUDOMONAS. The genome consists of linear, positive-sense single-stranded RNA.
Synonyms : Mu 2, Phage, phage 7s, Pseudomonas
