  • Lasalocid - »õâ Cationic ionophore antibiotic obtained from Streptomyces lasaliensis that, among other effects, dissociates the calcium fluxes in muscle fibers. It is used as a coccidiostat, especially in poultry.
    Synonyms : Avatec, Lasalocid A, Ro 2-2985, X-537A, Ro 2 2985, Ro 22985
  • Laser Coagulation - »õâ The coagulation of tissues using lasers. These lasers produce light in the visible green wavelength that is selectively absorbed by hemoglobin, and thus it is possible to seal bleeding blood vessels.
Synonyms : Coagulation, Laser, Coagulations, Laser, Laser Coagulations, Laser Thermocoagulations, Thermocoagulations, Laser
  • Laser Scanning Cytometry - »õâ A scanning microscope-based, cytofluorimetry technique for making fluorescence measurements and topographic analysis on individual cells. Lasers are used to excite fluorochromes in labeled cellular specimens. Fluorescence is detected in multiple discrete wavelengths and the locational data is processed to quantitatively assess APOPTOSIS; PLOIDIES; cell proliferation; GENE EXPRESSION; PROTEIN TRANSPORT; and other cellular processes.
    Synonyms : Scanning Cytometry, Laser
  • Laser Surgery - »õâ The use of a laser either to vaporize surface lesions or to make bloodless cuts in tissue. It does not include the coagulation of tissue by laser (LASER COAGULATION).
Synonyms : Laser Knives, Knife, Laser, Knives, Laser, Laser Scalpels, Laser Vaporization, Laser Vaporizations, Scalpel, Laser, Scalpels, Laser, Vaporizations, Laser
  • Laser Therapy, Low-Level - »õâ Treatment using irradiation with light at low power intensities and with wavelengths in the range 540nm-830nm. The effects are thought to be mediated by a photochemical reaction that alters CELL MEMBRANE PERMEABILITY, leading to increased mRNA synthesis and CELL PROLIFERATION. The effects are not due to heat, as in LASER SURGERY. Low-level laser therapy has been used in general medicine, veterinary medicine, and dentistry for a wide variety of conditions, but most frequently for wound healing and pain control.
Synonyms : Laser Therapy, Low-Power, Low-Level Laser Therapy, Low-Power Laser Irradiation, Low-Power Laser Therapy, Biostimulation, Laser, Irradiation, Low-Power Laser, Laser Irradiation, Low Power, Laser Therapies, Low-Level, Laser Therapies, Low-Power
