| Iowa type familial amyloid polyneuropathy |
a slowly progressive type of familial amyloid polyneuropathy affecting both the upper and lower limbs; renal amyloidosis is present and uremia is eventually fatal. It may be an advanced form of Portuguese type familial amyloid polyneuropathy. Called also Van Allen type familial amyloid p. and Van Allen's syndrome.
