| 설명 | 혈액 응고를 막는 작용을 하는 다당류의 황산에스테르. 고등동물의 각종 조직에 널리 분포되어 있으며, 수술 후의 혈전증을 막는 데 쓴다. 혈액응고란 지혈의 한 과정으로 섬유소란 물질을 만들어 내는 과정이다. 이 섬유소는 손상된 혈관의 부위에 작용하여 여러 가지 세포들을 얽어 묶는 역할을 하여 결국 손상된 혈관에서 혈액의 소실을 막는다. 이 섬유소는 트롬빈에 의해 섬유소원에서 전환된다. 헤파린이라는 물질은 이 트롬빈을 억제하는 항트롬빈을 활성화하는 물질이다. |
