a histologic fixative consisting of Zenker's fixative in which the glacial acetic acid is replaced by formaldehyde solution; the most widely used formula consists of 9 parts Zenker stock solution and 1 part neutral formalin (Zenker-Helly-Maximow) and is usually called Zenker-formol fixative.
