A new drug delivery system - these are biodegradable wafers that contain a drug - (BCNU now - other drugs are in the pipeline), which is implanted into the cavity left after a brain tumor is removed. The wafers slowly release the drug directly where it is needed. The advantages are a higher dose to the tumor, and less systemic side effects. Click here for details.
