| 설명 | 시각-청각-후각-미각-촉각 등의 다섯가지 감각. 감각을 신체에 있는 감각수용기의 종류로 분류한 것이다. 각 수용기는 특수한 자극만을 받아들여서 흥분하는데, 이와 같은 자극을 그 수용기의 적합자극이라 한다. ① 시각의 감각기관은 눈이며, 수용기는 망막에 있다. 적합자극은 빛이며, 파장이 약 400~720nm인 전자기파이다. 시각신호는 시신경을 거쳐 대뇌겉질 뒤통수엽의 시각구역에 이른다. ② 청각의 감각기관은 귀이며, 수용기는 속귀의 달팽이관 속에 들어 있다. 적합자극은 진동수가 20~20,000Hz인 음진동이다. 청각신호는 청신경을 거쳐 대뇌겉질 관자엽의 청각령에 이른다. ③ 후각의 감각기관은 코이며, 수용기는 비점막 속에 들어 있다. 적합자극은 공기 중의 여러 휘발성 물질이다. 후각신호는 후각신경을 거쳐 대뇌겉질 변연부의 후각구역에 이른다. ④ 미각의 감각기관은 입 안의 혀이며, 수용기는 혀의 맛봉우리 속에 있다. 적합자극은 입 속에서 녹는 여러 수용성 물질이다. 미각신호는 얼굴신경이나 혀인두신경을 통하여 대뇌겉질 마루엽 하부에 있는 미각구역에 이른다. ⑤ 촉각의 감각기관은 피부이며, 피부는 온각-냉각-통각 등의 감각기관이기도 하다. 따라서 감각기관이 피부인 감각을 피부감각이라 하여 촉각 대신 오감의 하나로 취급하기도 한다. 촉각의 신호는 척수신경(얼굴의 것은 뇌신경)을 거쳐 대뇌겉질 마루엽의 피부 감각구역에 이른다. 오늘날에는 오감을 제외하고 몇 가지 감각이 더 알려져 있다. 심부감각, 내장감각, 평형감각 등이 그것이다. 심부감각은 피부보다도 심부에 있는 근육이나 힘줄 등에 있는 감각수용기에 의하여 전달된다. 이로써 근육의 정도를 감지할 수 있어 눈을 감고 있어도 손-발의 위치나 운동상태, 또는 손에 들고 있는 물체의 무게 등을 알게 된다. 내장감각은 내장에 있는 통각신경에 의하여 전달된다. 그 밖에 여러 가지 수용기가 알려져 있다. 평형감각은 내이의 달팽이관 옆의 미로 속에 있는 수용기에 의하여 직진 및 회전의 가속도를 알 수 있다. |
