| 설명 | 의식이 소실된 상태에서 기도유지가 어려운 환자, 허파내 가스교환의 심한 장애로 인해 호흡기능상실에 빠진 환자 또는 어떤 종류의 수술을 위해 전신마취를 받는 환자에서 숨길확보와 호흡조절을 목적으로 기관내에 관을 밀어넣는(삽입하는) 것을 이르는 말이다. 기관내삽관법은 숨길확보와 호흡조절 뿐만 아니라 기관지내 분비물 제거의 용이함 등의 여러 가지 잇점을 제공한다. 특히 전신마취중인 환자는 기관내삽관의 경우 어떤 자세에 놓이더라도 숨길확보에 큰 어려움이 없으며, 마취과 의사는 환자로부터 떨어진 거리에서도 환자의 호흡을 자유로이 조절할 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 코를 통해 위까지 관을 집어넣는 것. 대개 이때 L-관(레빈 관)라는 것을 집어넣어 위까지 도달하게 한다. 이렇게 하는 목적은 크게 2가지로 나누어 볼 수 있는데 하나는 관을 통해 위내용물을 밖으로 뽑아내는 것이고, 다른 하나는 밖의 내용물을 안으로 집어넣는 것이다. 즉, 수술후 지나친 위팽창이나, 위출혈 등이 있을 때, 이들을 뽑아내거나, 혹은 입으로 제대로 삼킬 수는 없으나 소화기능은 보존되어 있을 때, 이 관을 통해 음식물을 넣어줄 수가 있다. |
