in some systems of classification, a proposed kingdom of organisms that would include everything except the Procaryotae (q.v.), i.e. all plants, animals, fungi, and protozoa, and most algae (except blue-green algae), grouping together all the organisms that are made up of eukaryotic cells, i.e., that have a true nucleus. Also written Eukaryotae.
