ergotamine <chemical> A vasoconstrictor found in ergot of central europe. It is an alpha-1 selective adrenergic agonist and is commonly used in the treatment of migraine headaches.
Pharmacological action: adrenergic alpha-agonists, analgesics, non-narcotic, vasoconstrictor agents.
