etodolac <chemical> 1,8-diethyl-1,3,4,9-tetrahydropyrano(3,4-b)indole-1-acetic acid. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with potent analgesic and antiarthritic properties. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and in the alleviation of postoperative pain.
Pharmacological action: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, cyclooxygenase inhibitors.
